6 Word Memoir Meme

Ok, I was linked by Kris, so here we go. Basically the idea, ganked from Hemingway, is that you pick 6 words to describe your life. I’ll post the original post from Bookbabie here and then post what I came up with below.

As I read yet another book review of a memoir this weekend, my husband told me that I should write one. I said that my story would be much too short and rather boring so when I ran across the following book I decided it was just my speed. A six word memoir! Written by Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser, Not Quite What I was Expecting: Six Word Memoirs by Famous and Obscure is a compilation based on the story that Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his life in six words. His words were- For Sale: baby shoes, never worn. There’s a video on Amazon with examples from the book, it sounds like a fun read! I’d like to start a six word memoir meme and here are the rules:

1. Write your own six word memoir

2. Post it on your blog and include a visual illustration if you’d like

3. Link to the person that tagged you in your post and to this original post if possible so we can track it as it travels across the blogosphere

4 .Tag five more blogs with links

5. And don’t forget to leave a comment on the tagged blogs with an invitation to play!

And now mine (do I get bonus points for putting the text on the image?)….
I hate and love you all.

I love it. And you do get points for being so hi-tech.
And I feel so special for being one of your tags. Yay me! :)

  2. bookbabie says:

Beautiful photo and perfect for your memoir, thanks for playing:)

  3. Thanks for commenting!

This one was fun to do. :)

  4. Sarah says:

wtf? it doesn’t like my funny pic!

    funny pictures

  5. Are you ‘meh’ing at my memoir? That’s harsh.

Looks like my board stripped the img tags out of your comments (so here’s hoping I got the images correct when I followed the links). Just post links to the images if it gives you a hard time again and I’ll check the admin section for options.

  6. Sarah says:

    oh yay! pics!

no, not at your memoir! i wanted to post it on kris’ but it didn’t wanna work

  7. Ok, I added a section to the functions file in my theme folder that should prevent image tags from being stripped.

I think I can post images to Sarah’s blog because I am an admin. I can adjust your’s if you like so other can post images.

I haven’t messed with blogs actually hosted by Wordpress before, so I’m not sure it is possible to have Kris’ accept images in the comments unless the options are different for hosted vs non-hosted.

  8. Sarah says:

that sucks. she should accept ALL of my images! ;)

  9. Rebekah says:

You definitely get bonus points for putting the words on the picture. I thought it was very well done. I don’t thiink I could do my life in 6 words. I’m an awfully wordy person.

  10. Kris Martinez says:

Sorry! I don’t know how to mess with it like that!
    I’ll check, though!

  11. Thanks Rebekah!

It takes a bit of thinking, but I’m sure you could come up with something that fits the theme of your life. :)
