What I do

Well, put simply, I make websites. My primary concern is making your customers happy, so they keep coming back to you for stuff instead of jumping ship to your nearest competitor. Making this happen is all about usability, accessibility, and simplicity. If your site is clear in its presentation, and straightforward in its use, your users will succeed in their tasks, be it to buy a widget or download a white paper, which makes them happy. And their success means higher conversion rates for you, which makes you happy. Usability is really a win-win all the way around, so naturally, that is where I focus my attention.

Now, there are, of course, the buzzwords you will hear being thrown around everywhere as well, so I will mention them for the sake of completeness. I code in standards compliant XHTML and CSS, adding in whatever Javascript, AJAX, php, mysql, or xml that is needed. I create sites that are loved by google for their use of title attributes, alt text, and those lovely keywords we all hear so much about.

Where I showcase the work I do, be it freelance, volunteer, or part of my day job at Dominion Enterprises. I may also wax eloquent on any and all things related to web design.

Resident Source

This is one of the two main products I help support as a Web Developer for Dominion. To borrow from the official site, ResidentSource provides property management software that serves both multi-family apartment communities and property management companies with lead management, new resident acquisition and resident retention. So there ya go. We handle leads, applications, payments, maintenance requests, and other such things for property management companies.

Resite Online

The other main product I work on at Dominion. Once again from the main site... Resite Online is the leader in online property management tools that enable property management companies to exceed the expectations of their current and prospective residents. Our comprehensive suite of web-based resources includes custom and template apartment web sites, online lead capture, apartment lead management, and online rent collection. So it is mostly like the Resident Source product, but mostly custom instead of templated sites. Don't worry, the same sales reps sell both, so they can guide you to the one you need.

My personal blog, titled 'i love and hate you all ~ on understanding people, or, at least, trying to'. It is mostly a telling of how I perceive people and try to determine what it is that drives them. It is wholly unscientific, based entirely on my personal observations and experience, with posts often written while I am still trying to process what I am speaking about. Can't claim that makes for any true revelations on the human condition, but I find it interesting at heart.
